Baby Blog: January 13, 2010

We are almost half way to Baby Boy's due date! Here is our 20 week update (a couple days early) and a picture from 19w 2d...

Baby Boy is doing great! He's kicking away and growing fast (well, my belly is growing fast, so I assume he is growing fast too!). I'm slowly gaining my energy back, and I'm so grateful to finally be able to really clean the house and run errands for a change (though Landon's still taking care of almost everything!). Baby Boy was spoiled at Christmas by our family and friends, and we have already assembled everything we received that is needed for his first months. :) We're not excited or anything!

Big news this past week...Landon felt Baby Boy kick!!! We are sure he felt it, and he has now felt it a few times. So, so exciting.

A few things I love to eat right now:
-Applesauce (can I please have it via IV?!)
-Pears
-Black Bean Burritos (tortillas, rice, beans, cheese)
-Crunch Jingles (Crunch candy bars shaped like a bell...I only like the shaped ones...don't ask)
-Bagel Sandwiches (I love you Old School Bagel)
-Grilled Cheese Sandwiches (no butter on the bread though!)
-Green Grapes
-Corn on the Cob
-Sliced Cheese
-Mashed Potatoes
-Any Random Grilled Vegetable

A few things I don't love right now:
-Anything With Butter
-Anything With Garlic
-Anything With Any Other Spice :)
-Looking At Or Preparing Raw Meat
-The Smell of Lucy's Dog Food And Breath (sick!)

Random Things:
-We are still walking everyday...and I'm even increasing the distance. The second trimester is so much better than the first trimester!
-Acid.Reflux.Stinks. But, let me just tell you that trying to save money and buy the off brand of Tums is NOT worth it. Just spend the extra 10 cents for the real thing. :)
-I'm still wearing my regular clothes, though they totally don't fit. Maternity clothes swallow me, even the shirts with ruching on the sides. I've used the belly band a few times this week for my pants and I really like it so far. Hopefully maternity clothes will start to fit soon!
-Landon is going to be such a wonderful dad!
-Landon and I are having so much fun preparing our hearts and home for our little man. We've started reading books and we're even attending a little parenting class at our church. So fun.

I'm so excited Landon got to feel the baby kick, isn't amazing!!! :)

I feel ya on the acid reflux. I had it BAD. And it started around 8wks, literally. Drinking a glass of ice cold milk was actually one of my best temporary relievers, considering I had usually taken the max amount of tums by noon! Also the chewy rolaids helped me too.

That is funny that you don't like butter. I would like to know if that continues for you. Toward the end of my pregnancy Brian commented that I was eating more toast than I used to and he was curious why toast sounded good. I told him it was because I could not get enough butter and toast was just an avenue to eat more butter!

Danielle-I'll post nursery pics as soon as we make some progress. We are staying really simple, but the colors are brown, sage, and white...

Kristina-Good tips for the reflux! And, update your blog!!!

Sarah-I love that you loved butter! So funny! Butter gives me reflux, so that is the only reason it is on my "things I don't love" list. I'll keep you updated though...things are changing fast around here. :)
