Furniture!

Our new living room furniture has arrived!! Finally! It was supposed to take 3 weeks from order to delivery, but instead it took 9 weeks. Before the new furniture, we were using a guest mattress to watch TV or relax in the living room. :) To say we are thrilled would be an understatement.

The furniture looks perfect in the room. A few things we still have to do in the living room: put throw pillows on the couch and chairs, hang things on the wall, finish the trim work/staining/painting on the wall Landon built, and decide what coffee table/ottoman we want.

We are so proud of our new home! And, so excited that things are finally getting finished! There are only a few big projects that we have left in the whole house...yay! In the evenings, Landon has been working on making that weirdo nook space into a closet, and I think he will be finished with that in the next week or so.

Let Your Kid Ride the Bus

So, my usual 17-20 minute drive to and from work has become torture. Like 30-40 minutes of torture. It all started last week when the little rascals in our area went back to school. We didn't realize until now that every major street on our way to the highway has an elementary school or a larger private school on it, meaning that we have lots of traffic to manuever around. Additionally, there is road construction that was already going on. SO. MUCH. TRAFFIC. I've decided to stop working for the 9 months that school is in session. Okay, not really.

Today I'm calling each individual school (of course...all are in different school districts or private), to find out when they start school in the morning and when they get out for the day. This will determine my daily drive times to and from work and hopefully make my drive a little less torture.

One of my BFFs has finally started a blog!!! Yay! Erica is one of my most wonderful friends, and Kevin and Erica have been such a positive model of marriage for Landon and I. We love them!

Yes, we have become horrible bloggers again. I will blame this on the fact that our computer and camera are not cooperating with each other right now, so I keep putting posts off.

We are back safe and sound from a wonderful vacation! We had so much fun... but I will post about our trip on another date when my pictures are cooperating. :)

Our house is slowly coming together. We didn't realize how busy and stressed we had been until we had nothing to do but lay around on the beach. So, we came up with a plan to help our house come together, but also let us relax. We are taking one room a week, and completely finishing the room. This week has been the office. It is looking really good and we are finally seeing progress.

On another house note, our couch and chairs are still not in. We are about to lose it. They were supposed to be in on July 15th, then July 28th, and now they are "lost." And Dilliards keeps telling us they will give us a full refund. The problem is, if we take the refund for the "lost" furniture, we are back at square one. Our drapes are also late. I wish sales people would just be honest with shipment dates and approximate times for things to be ready.

On a positive note...the first OU game is in less than a month!!! Yay!!!!!
