Guns and Fun

Our Father's Day gift to our dad's was a morning of trap shooting and lunch at Pops after. We had so much fun! Here are a few pictures...

Mitch and Jen. Love my daddy!
Landon and Russ. Russ was the big winner...he shot 24 of the 50 targets!
Doesn't Landon look cute?! Love him.

Thanks again for being such wonderful dads! And, congrats to Russ for shooting the most targets!!!

Goodbye Slipcover

We finally bought living room furniture!!! Yay! We have been looking for months (seriously), with no luck. We aren't that picky, but we were having trouble finding what we liked in the size that we needed. We found it when we weren't looking...at Dillards on our way out of the mall. We chose our fabric and style, and they say it will be ready in 3 weeks, though we figure it will be longer.

With that news...we will have no more slipcovered couch. Hallelujah. I might burn the slipcover when the new furniture comes in. The.slipcover.is.annoying. I feel like I tuck and straighten about 50 times a day. So excited to be getting new living room furniture!

Happy Father's Day!!!

Happy Father's Day to my wonderful dad!!! I am blessed to have you for a dad! Thanks for all you have done and all you have sacrificed for your family!

Thanks for being such a fun dad, and for tickling us until we cried every single night of our childhood. :) And for being at all our sporting events and for coaching our teams. And for helping us with math homework and helping us construct our science projects. And for paying for our first car and our college and my wedding. And an extra special thanks for making us scoop dog poop and write sentences when we misbehaved (not).

Love you dad!

Happy Father's Day to Russ!

Happy Father’s Day to Russ, my wonderful father-in-law! I am so grateful to Russ for being the father of my dear husband. Landon definitely got his laid-back, go with the flow attitude from his dad. He also got his love for all things outdoors from Russ…they love fishing and hunting and shooting targets and skeet (and all that man stuff).

Also, thanks for giving us space to grow in our first years of marriage, and for always keeping our best interest at heart. We appreciate that more than we can tell you!

We love you Russ!

Cheers To 60 Years!!!

We would like to congratulate my sweet grandparents, Dallas and Mary Lou, on 60 YEARS OF MARRIAGE!!! What an accomplishment! You are truly an inspiration and encouragement to all of us. We love you!

They were married 60 years ago in Illinois, where they both grew up, but they have lived in Oklahoma for most of their adult lives. They have 3 kids and 5 perfect granddaughters (hehe)...and a wienie dog named Joe that could probably count as their 4th child. They are still active in their church and community. They have travelled the world. They have made an impact on so many people's lives. Have we mentioned that we love my grandparents?!

Thank you for supporting your grandchildren throughout the years. You have been there at sporting events and dance recitals. You have helped financially support us on mission trips and through college. You celebrate all of our birthdays and exciting events. You have truly made your family a priority, and we are so grateful for your leadership in our family. Thank you for your sacrifice and love! Have we mentioned that we love my grandparents?!

And yes, my grandparents are computer savvy and they read our blog. :)

Congratulations Grandpa and Grandma!!! We can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend!

Great White Sharks

Last night, we were talking about local current events as we were going to bed. Mainly, the ambulance driver that was pulled over on the way to the ER (don't get me started on this) and the Jessica Alba vandalism story. You know, the one where she pasted posters of Great White Sharks in a few places in the city to promote awareness for saving the sharks.

Our question is... Why would anyone waste their time promoting Great White Shark awareness in Oklahoma??? We really couldn't be farther from the ocean. Just wondering if anyone else thought of that.

Sneak Peak

We have been working diligently to get our house set up. Here is a sneak peak... This is the "sitting area" that is a part of the big great room that includes the living room, dining room, kitchen, and sitting area.

We still have some decorative things to buy (pillows, lamps, small tables, etc) and drapes to hang before this area is complete, but we are making progress!

Here Comes the Bride...

One of my nearest and dearest friends, Payton, got married this past weekend in Tulsa. Landon and I love her and her new husband! Payton was SO BEAUTIFUL, and their wedding was so fun. I felt so sentimental the whole weekend. :)

Payton and I met at the beginning of our freshman year of college, and then shortly after became roommates, and then pretty much spent the next 4 years together. I then headed off to PA school, and Payton followed me a year later. It was totally random that we chose the same profession, but now we also have that bond. Oh, I just love her.

Enjoy some pictures in totally random order, thanks to blogger:

Some dear college friends (and baby!). Crazy how things change in just a few years...Blake is a dentist, then me, Katie is a mommy to 2!, and Kristy is living in Dallas.

Landon and I at the end of the night. We were tired!!
The beautiful bride! This is one of the only pictures I got of her. :(

Payton and Rowdy! This is the only picture I got of the newlyweds. :(

Me and the lovely bride right before she walked down the aisle!

All the best to Payton and Rowdy! Have fun in Jamaica!!!!!!!
