CLOSING DAY!!!

WE.ARE.SO.EXCITED! Today is closing day!! We sign the papers at 1pm! Yay! Yay! Yay!

We were too excited to sleep last night. I think we ended up going to bed around 3am. Ha. That is definitely the latest we've ever stayed up together. We're not excited or anything!

Memorial Day Weekend

Landon and I are back to work after a wonderful and relaxing three day weekend! We are excited because we only have a 2 day work week, and then we are both off next week. Yay for moving!

I took call this weekend, so we couldn't leave the Oklahoma City area, but we made the best of our weekend at home. We had lots of errands to run for our upcoming move and Payton's wedding, and we started packing the things we have at my parents house.

We also watched LOTS of Deadliest Catch on the Discovery Channel. I hope everyone watches this show! OMG, we love it. I think we might have a special bond to Deadliest Catch after our Alaska vacation. I know most of you have already heard this, but Landon saw the Time Bandit in Homer, Alaska. I totally didn't believe him, and was too busy throwing up to look (note: being sea sick while halibut fishing was the lowest point of my life...no lie...I thought i was going to die). A few hours later, we found out that the Time Bandit summers in Homer, so he really did see a Deadliest Catch crab fishing boat!! Super cool.

Closing Date

Our closing date is set for Thursday, May 28th! We are excited and ready, though the day is not convenient at all for us, as I am in a wedding in Tulsa that weekend. Oh well. No one seems to be in any hurry to get things done (except Landon and I), so we are just glad that things are finally moving forward.

Approved!

Good news from the Hubbarts... We just found out that the judge has officially approved the sale of our house. Tomorrow, the trustee will take the paperwork to the title company, and then they will be able to set our closing date!!!!!!!!!! Yay!! Landon and I are so excited and so relieved! Our realtor told us that we should close by this coming Wednesday at the latest. I'm not sure I'll really believe it until we sign the paperwork and get our keys!

What a blessing Landon has been to me. He is silly and smart, optimistic and good-natured. He honors and respects me in everything he does. I trust him wholeheartedly, and I look to him for protection and security and provision.

He is also such a good friend to those who are close to him.

Catch All Post

We are so excited to get out of town for the weekend. I am hosting a bachelorette party in Tulsa for Payton, one of my nearest and dearest friends. We are then going to stay in Tulsa for the rest of the weekend to celebrate Landon's birthday!! He isn't 30 yet...but it won't be long!

Today was our original closing date for the house, and we obviously aren't closing. :( We are sad and ready to close, but we are also trying to be patient. We know that it will all be worth it when we actually close and move into our house.

We finally found some furniture! We ordered a dining room set yesterday!! We have the same taste in decorating/furniture, but we have had so much trouble finding things we like. We think it will look really good with the wood (dark cherry, we believe...we need to find that out from the builder) and the black appliances and black granite countertops. Here is a picture of the table, chairs, and a really bad picture of the buffet.

New House Pictures

Below are some sneak peak pictures of our new house! We are hoping to close this coming Friday (15th), but it could very well be the next week. Basically, we are at the mercy of bankruptcy court. Everything is finished on our side, so we are just waiting. As I mentioned, we are buying the house from bankruptcy court...the builder (Brass Brick) went bankrupt just as they were finishing the house. There are a few finishing touches that we need to complete, but it is SO CLOSE to being done. On the front of the house, we will put a decorative gable vent on the big bare area of brick. I hope that makes sense!? We will also stain the shutters on the window to the right.

My beloved kitchen. I love the cabinets (they look almost white-washed), and the contrast of the black counter tops, and the wood molding. I also LOVE the island. A LOT. This picture was taken from outside, so excuse the heinous picture quality and reflections.

The rest of the house is hard to explain from this picture, so I won't even try until I have better pictures. We are so excited!!! And, we can't wait to have everyone over for dinner and fun!!!
