Update On The Girls: 8 Months

Another month has passed by, but so many memories have been made. Love these girls!

Adelyn at 8 months:

Emery at 8 months:

Some facts from the girl's eighth month of life:
-Wearing 6-12 month clothes.
-Mainly wearing cloth diapers with no snap. In disposables, they are wearing a size 3 diaper.
-Eating 4 times per day. They take an 6 ounce bottle of formula at all of their feedings. They are also eating 3 meals of solids per day. They have fruit for breakfast, yogurt or oatmeal for lunch, and vegetables or beans for dinner. They are also loving Cheerios, crackers, puffs, and baby mummums.
-They are sleeping in their crib at night and for all naps. They go down for the night at 7:00pm and don't wake up until 7:00am!! They are great night sleepers, which has been an incredible blessing for all of us! They are transitioning from 3 naps per day to 2 naps per day.


Random things we don't want to forget:

-Both girls are rolling everywhere!!! If one of us leaves the room for a minute, we often return to find them stuck in a corner on the other side of the room.

-Adelyn is very content to roll around on the floor and play with toys. She can scoot, wiggle, and roll her way to just about anything she wants. Emery is happy to roll for awhile, but she is definitely ready to crawl.

-Emery can sit completely unassisted for almost an entire playtime. Adelyn still lacks a little bit of balance, so we put the Boppy around her for support.

-Both girls LOVE Benton. They giggle and smile when he comes near them.

-Adelyn is still loving the jumperoo. Emery tolerates it most of the time, but she would prefer to be doing something else.

-The girls are teething. Emery has a new tooth this month (one top tooth). We expect a few teeth to come through this month.

-On February 26th, the girls were dedicated at church. Our family of five stood together at the front of the church. Such a special day!

-On March 18th, the girls went to the church nursery for the first time. They did great!!!!

Update On The Girls: 7 Months

Our sweet kids are keeping us busy and the days are flying by!

Some facts from the girl's seventh month of life:
-Wearing 6-12 month clothing.
-Mainly wearing cloth diapers with no snap. In disposables, they are wearing a size 3 diaper.
-Eating 4 times per day. They take an 7 ounce bottle of formula at all of their feedings. They are also eating 3 meals of solids per day. They have fruit for breakfast, yogurt or oatmeal for lunch, and vegetables or beans for dinner. They also eat baby mum mums, puffs, and Cheerios.
-They are sleeping in their crib at night and for all naps. They go down for the night at 7:00pm and don't wake up until 7:00am!! They are great night sleepers, which has been an incredible blessing for all of us! They take 3 naps per day, 2 longer naps in the morning and afternoon and 1 very short late afternoon nap.

Random things we don't want to forget:
-Both girls are rolling from belly to back, and from back to belly! They roll everywhere now!
-Although they still sit primarily in the Bumbo, they are starting to sit with only a Boppy for support.
-We tried to move them from being swaddled from the armpits down to no swaddle. It was extremely unsuccessful. :). They are now sleeping in sleep sacks/ wearable blankets.

-Their favorite time of day is when Daddy gets home! Benton watches for Landon through our front window, and starts running around screaming "dadadada.". They get the biggest smiles and know exactly what is happening.

-Both girls enjoy taking walks. Emery is content to just sit in the stroller and look around. Adeline will sit in the stroller for awhile, but likes to be held for part of the walk too (mainly in the evening).

-Both girls love books! Adeline likes rolling around with books and touching them. Emery likes being read to and looking at the pictures.

-Emery is starting to rock back and forth on her hands and knees. We should have a crawler before too long.

Update On The Girls: 6 Months Continued

Here are Adelyn and Emery's 6 month stats! They have pretty much caught up with other babies their age in all categories. Good job, girlies!

Adelyn's stats:
-Weight: 16 pounds, 14 ounces
-Length: 25 3/4 inches
-Head Circumference: 17 1/5 inches

Emery's stats:
-Weight: 17 pounds
-Length: 25 1/2 inches
-Head Circumference: 17 3/4 inches

Update On The Girls: 6 Months

Half a year!!! It has gone by so quickly!

Some facts from the girl's sixth month of life:
-Wearing 3-6 Month clothes, though not for very much longer!
-Mainly wearing cloth diapers with no snap. In disposables, they are wearing a size 3 diaper.
-Eating 4 times per day. They take an 8 ounce bottle of formula at all of their feedings. They are also eating 2 meals of solids per day. They have 2 tbsp of fruit for breakfast and 2-3 tbsp of vegetables for dinner.
-They are sleeping in their crib at night and for all naps. They go down for the night at 7:00pm and don't wake up until 7:00am!! They are great night sleepers, which has been an incredible blessing for all of us! They take 3 naps per day, 2 longer naps in the morning and afternoon and 1 very short late afternoon nap.


Random things we don't want to forget:
-Adelyn sucks on her right index finger when she is sleeping. Emery sucks on her right thumb any chance she gets.
-They are both laughing and giggling. The things they find especially funny are anything their big brother does, when daddy kisses and tickles their bellies, and when mommy sings songs and makes silly faces.
-The girls are still rolling from belly to back, but not yet from back to belly. They are so close though, and often roll to their side.
-Everything goes in their mouths. Emery is very possessive of Sophie the Giraffe, and glares at Adelyn any time she is chewing on it. She also reaches for Sophie if she sees it. Adelyn is content to chew on just about anything.

Update On The Girls: 5 Months

How are my baby girls almost half a year old?! Time has flown by even faster the second time around! (Please excuse the questionable photography job on their monthly pictures...it was Christmas and we were busy!!!)

Some facts from the girl's third month of life:

-Wearing 3-6 Month clothes.
-Wearing Size 2 or Size 3 diapers.
-Eating 4 times per day. They take an 8 ounce bottle at all of their feedings. They still have pumped breastmilk in their bottles, but are quickly being switched over to formula.
-They are sleeping in their crib at night and for all naps. They go down for the night at 7:00pm and don't wake up until 7:00am!! They are great night sleepers, which has been an incredible blessing for all of us! They take 3 naps per day.
-Doing well on the eat/play/sleep routine!

Random things we don't want to forget:
-The girls are getting close to rolling from their back to their belly. They roll to their sides and then get angry until we roll them all the way over.
-They started solids at the end of this month. They started with avocados. They have also tried peas and green beans. Adelyn knows how to eat, but doesn't seem to like anything. Emery seems to love the taste of the food, but hasn't quite caught on to how to keep the food in her mouth.
-Emery is laughing and giggling. Adelyn starts smiling, and then turns her head away shyly. They are both too cute!
-They love their jumperoos. Emery is a wild and crazy jumper, and she ends up flinging herself all over the place. Adelyn is a very controlled jumper, always jumping straight up and down. Seeing them next to each other is hilarious.
-Big brother Benton is definitely their favorite source of entertainment. He makes them smile. :) He also loves to hug them and give them kisses. Occasionally, you can see a terrified look on their faces when he approaches...it's probably a healthy fear. Ha!
-They both love being outside!

Update On The Girls: 4 Months Continued

The girls had their 4 month well child check-up! They are doing great!

Adelyn's Stats:
-Weight: 13 pounds, 8 ounces
-Height: 23 1/2 inches

Emery's Stats:
-Weight: 13 pounds, 9 ounces
-Height: 23 inches

Update On The Girls: 4 Months

The days are going by so quickly here! We are grateful for happy, healthy 4 month olds!!!!

Some facts from the girl's fourth month of life:
-Wearing 3-6 Month clothes.
-Wearing Size 2 diapers.
-Eating 5 times per day. They take a 6 ounce bottle at every feeding. They still have pumped breastmilk in their bottles.
-They are sleeping in their crib at night and for all naps. They go down for the night at around 7:00pm and don't wake up until 7:00am. They nap 3 times per day.
-Doing well on the eat/play/sleep routine!

Random things we don't want to forget:

-Both girls are rolling from belly to back. Emery went through a short stage where she was trying to roll all night long. Oh my goodness, it was an exhausting few nights.

-They sit very well in their bumbo chairs. Usually they either sit face to face and stare at each other, or they sit in their activity gym and play with toys.

-They are starting to really enjoy tummy time and their necks and arms are getting strong!
-Emery was a zebra and Adelyn was a giraffe for Halloween. We went to the fall festival at church and trick-or-treated in the neighborhood.

-The family celebrated Thanksgiving at Grammy and Champ's house. Both girls were sweet, cranky, and well-loved. :)

-As of a few days ago, they are giving wonderfully slobbery open mouth kisses.
